Our journal
Oxford Dictionary says Latitude is the angular distance of a place North or South of the Earth’s Equator, or the Equator of a celestial object. Latitude can also be the scope for freedom of action or thought.
Either as the imaginary lines around the Globe or as a pursuit of liberty, we chose this word to name this journal, a space dedicated to publishing short stories, poems, essays, literary and film reviews in English (original and in translation.)
Our Latitude Journal is an independent cultural publication of texts that cover important themes of our present time and critical and literary new voices.
We are not accepting submissions at the moment, but you can keep up with us on Instagram.
Our mascot
A goat can be an acronym for Greatest of All Time, but ours is a more unassuming one: think of the animal with delicate features who hikes up rocky mountains and climbs tree tops. Leaping across grassy fields or taking surprising flights, half sheep, half bird, the goat has something of a cow, a deer, a horse, a cat and a dog.
It is this mixed and curious, explorative and graceful nature that led us to the this lovely animal. Like goats, writers and translators sometimes need to open paths between rocks and pursue new perspectives, looking at the world from within and from above.
